Wordless Wednesday

With record breaking heat waves all over the West Coast and nearly 100 degree temps here in Phoenix we decided we would share some of our favorite tips to stay cool on warm day for this week’s Wordless Wednesday!

We love using these freezable flexible mats during rest stops! Bonus they also work to keep our water and treats cool while we are walking!10615513_945047528842232_1168666539376290134_n1891156_970548509625467_5470168839701985889_n

We try to find places to walk near shallow water, or water play parks for children, to cool down during long walks.

Sometimes you’ve gotta hitch a ride for part of the walk…

My favorite way to escape the heat? Trips to the beach!

    1. I agree 1000%! We don’t live very close to a beach so sometimes short day trips to Sedona in northern AZ or trips to the river/lake have to suffice but they never bring the refreshment the beach does!

    1. Thor likes to splash in the water, Johnny is mortified if his toes get wet, and Raylee is too busy racing around to even notice that there is water around!

  2. Ugh, yes, it’s been so hot here in So Cal! Rita LOVES to go on walks that include a chance for a dip in the water. Unfortunately we no longer go to the off-leash beach here (long story…) and the on-leash beach is only an option until 9. No dogs at all after 9 a.m. – and we’re a bit lazy so we rarely make it down there early enough. (Rita would sleep until 9 every day if she could!)
